Album Baru Linkin Park : A Thousand Suns
A Thousand Suns (Seribu Matahari) adalah album yang dikeluarkan oleh Linkin Park pada tahun 2010 tepatnya pada tanggal 14 September 2010. Album ini diproduksi oleh Mike Shinnoda bersama Rick Rubin, yang sebelumnya bekerja sama dalam pembuatan album “Minutes to Midnight” pada tahun 2007. Single utama album ini adalah single yang berjudul “The Catalyst” yang sudah disebarkan ke radio radio pada tanggal 03 Agustus 2010.
Konsep dari album ini adalah perang nuklir. Judul album ini diambil dari kutipan J. Robert Oppenheimer, merujuk sastra hindu, ”if the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like splendor of the mighty” yang artinya jika sinar seribu matahari itu meledak ke langit, itu akian menjadi seperti kemuliaan yang berkuasa”.

Menurut saya album Linkin Park yang satu ini lagu lagunya sangat bervariasi terdengar dari lagu lagu yang bernuansa beda tapi tetep nge-rock, dari lagu yang slow mellow sampe lagu yang Rock-est ada dalam album ini. Banyak terdengar juga lagu yang nuansa rap dan hampir semuanya rap seperti lagu yang berjudul “When They Come For Me” kebanyakan Mike yang bernyanyi sedangkan Chester hanya beberapa bait saja. Sayangnya dalam album ini banyak sekali lagu yang saya anggap sebagai “iklan” karena kurang dapat menikmatinya seperti lagu “The Requiem”, ”The Radiance”, ”Empty Space”, ” Jornada Del Muerto”, ” Wisdom, Justice, and Love”, dan ” Fallout”, tapi mungkin itu adalah salah satu cirri khas dari album Linkin Park yang baru in.
